The System

The ILID Bounce Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system is the next generation in electronic shelf labelling. It offers retailers the ability to eliminate traditional paper labelling and jump-shift their operations to a more dynamic, cost-effective and efficient method of managing their product pricing and promotional requirements.

The ILID Bounce system is easy to install and unlike other systems does not require any major infrastructure works or investments such as separate servers, networks of transmitters and receivers and associated cabling making it the most cost-effective Electronic Shelf Label system on the market.

Once installed there are no ongoing hardware maintenance costs.

Retailers now can change pricing and promotion information at the touch of a button either through manual application or pre-loading. The ILID system allows retailers to reduce labour costs and stay ahead of their competition through dynamic pricing strategies and increase sales by better engaging and influencing customers at the point of purchase.

The Software

The Bounce Software seamlessly integrates with current store Retail POS systems and has been specifically designed to require minimal user interaction. Seamless integration ensures that all price changes will happen automatically, meaning no down time between changes in the POS system and the prices appearing on the shelf.

It has been designed to consolidate data from multiple sources (POS systems, merchandising systems, product descriptions, promotional information and web-based information) and the open programming interface means that Bounce can also utilise existing ticketing systems.

The Bounce Communicator

The Bounce Communicator (slightly larger than the size of a post card) is the hub of the ILID Bounce ticketing system and enables a wireless and real-time solution.  It uses two-way Radio Frequency (RF) communication to instantaneously send and receive messages to and from labels.  ILID Bounce RF is completely secure and does not interfere with any other RF or wireless communications in stores or warehouses.

Two-way communication ensures that there is complete traceability and compliance of all data.  Labels once having received an update from the ‘Bounce Communicator’ respond with a compliance message sent back to the software user-interface.  This feature provides retailers with 100% confidence that changes have been executed.

The ‘Bounce Communicator’ is installed to a central location in your store with a single cable running back to your store’s POS system and enables communication with labels across the entire store.

The Labels

The ILID Bounce system utilises two different types of ESLs depending on the needs and requirements of a retailer.

Segmented Dot Matrix Labels (SDM)

Specifically designed as a low cost and practical label the SDM range is the only hybrid ESL on the market. The SDM range combines the best elements of Segmented and Dot Matrix LCD technology.

Available in 2 or 3 line LCD display versions they can hold and display different types of information such as price, unit price, scrolling letters and words. 

Dubbed the  ‘intelligent label’ SDM labels have applications beyond just pricing with the ability to receive and display specific product information such as sales data , stock-on-hand, carton size,  Shelf Presentation Levels, etc.... as well as being able to perform pricing calculations such as ‘ 15% Off store wide’.

The labels can also display multiple languages and characters.

The SDM type labels add value to retailers not only through reducing price change labour costs but also increase store operations efficiencies.

epaper Labels (epop)

The latest in ESL technology the epaper solution, or epops (electronic point of purchase), are LCD display labels available in various sizes that have the ability to display high resolution images.  The epops not only eliminate the cost of label replacement but also add value to retailers with opportunities to be more interactive with their customers at the point of purchase by displaying logos and product imagery as well as barcodes.
